Up early, Peter photos the pier as the Queen arrives at Victoria's port. Fork lift crews will soon be loading and off-loading.

The Queen Elizabeth dominates Victoria's port. Peter and Julie avoid the ship's crowds by disembarking early in the day.

Since the Queen was last in Alaskan waters, passengers must pass through Canadian customs before entering Victoria.

Immediatly beyond Victoria's port, beautiful trails hug the coast of Vancouver Island. Julie and Peter set out on a hike.

Unlike much of the Alaskan coast that the Queen has passed, Vancouver Island's coast, near the port, is walker-accessible.

As well as banning cigarettes, a curiously modern sign reminds trail users not to smoke weed or to vape.

Here is another curiosity: Home sweet home isn't what one would expect to see painted on a peice of driftwood.
