No space is wasted. From floor to ceiling, up into the floor joists, and hung from the joists, every available inch is pressed into storage service

Behind the shelves and curtain is the new storage space. In front of the shelves, low, black cabinets are on a caster cart, allowing easy access to the shelves behind.

More items from the storage locker have arrived at Emerson. Aaron's beautiful main floor will be temporarily f-upped as it serves as an unpacking and sorting area.

Box after box of LP records, compact discs, cables and audio equipment invade the serene space.

Gear is plugged in and tested. Immediately, I discovered that Escher failed to honor our agreement. A preamplifier is missing, meaning much of the gear can't be connected.

Fuck it, a trip to e-bay solved the preamplifier problem. Shown second from the bottom on the right, I found the very preamp that was missing for a good price.

Testing continues. Thankfully, the movers didn't damage any gear and Escher didn't sabotage anything. Music now rings out of my old rig and fills my heart with joy!

The most fragile piece of audio gear, a somewhat legendary old Thorens turntable, survived the move. Aaron's Kenny-Rankin disc is the first vinyl on the platter.

The main rig's speakers are thirty years old. They sang when they were new and they sing now.

Jesus what a mess! The sublime Emerson living room has likely never been violated quite like this.
