The Wolf River, seen by canoe, nearing the Post Lake Dam.
A toad in the yard of the cottage. Back in the day, Alice Durnburger, a wonderful old neighbor would call these froads. Fifty years later I still think of them as froads.
The Post Lake Dam, seen from Clear Lake Road on a bike ride. A popular fishing spot.

The Wolf River, looking upstream from Post Lake Dam. This portion of the river widens into Lower Post Lake.

Upper Post Lake with a tired puppy in the shade.
Rocky, the bike, rests at the side of a remote road that was once part of the Robert S Lyle Boy Scout camp (no longer, now Langlade County owns this property).
One of two undeveloped lakes is in the background. Rough roads, through thick woods, connect this area to our cottage road.
As boys, brother Charlie and I would sneak into this are and swim in the pristine lake.
